"Hostile Government Takeover" is a viral anti-Trump protest song written by TikTok user AGiftFromTodd.^[1] An EDM remix with collaboration by artist Vinny Marchi reached number one on the United States iTunes Store.^[2] The song was promoted by British American comedian John Oliver in the Season 12 premiere of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver on HBO.^[3]
