Hijam Georgie Philemon
Hijam Georgie Philemon is an Indian scholar, researcher, and writer from Manipur, India. His academic work focuses on postcolonial studies, cultural hybridity, Manipuri literature and performance traditions, with particular emphasis on Meitei culture, folklore, and indigenous art forms. He is currently a research scholar at Dhanamanjuri University, Imphal.
Early Life and Education
Hijam Georgie Philemon was born in Manipur, a northeastern state of India with a rich cultural and linguistic heritage. He pursued his early education in Imphal and went on to specialize in English literature. He later enrolled as a research scholar at Dhanamanjuri University, where his work bridges postcolonial theory and indigenous cultural studies.
