Harpreet Kaur is an Australian educator and entrepreneur best known as the founder and chief executive officer of Nova Anglia College, a private higher education institution based in Brisbane, Queensland. She is noted for launching Australia's first non-engineering bachelor’s degree program focused on electric vehicle (EV) technology.

Career

[edit]

Kaur began her career in the automotive industry, gaining over 20 years of experience before transitioning into the education sector. Recognizing a shortage of skilled professionals in electric vehicle technology, she envisioned an institution that could provide both theoretical knowledge and hands-on technical training tailored to industry needs.

In 2024, she founded Nova Anglia College in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. The college offers a Bachelor of Technology (Electric Vehicle), which combines vocational and academic approaches. Under Kaur’s leadership, the curriculum was developed in collaboration with industry partners to address workforce gaps and support sustainable transport goals in Australia.

Recognition

[edit]

Kaur has received recognition in national and international media for her contributions to technical education. Forbes Scotland profiled her as a visionary leader in electric vehicle training and highlighted her role in establishing Nova Anglia College.[1]

Her efforts to align higher education with future industry needs have also been covered in publications such as International Business Times and ANZECOM.[2][3]

Personal life

[edit]

Kaur co-manages Nova Anglia College with her husband, Ajitpal Singh, who has over 15 years of experience in the Australian education sector. Together, they lead the college with a focus on innovation, employability, and skills development for a sustainable future.
