Harald Austad is a Norwegian-born, Los Angeles-based multidisciplinary artist, acclaimed for his work as both a platinum-selling music producer and a visual artist. He is the founder of Supervillain, a production company and independent record label. His musical collaborations include notable Norwegian artists such as Karpe, Madcon, OnklP, Cezinando, and Bernhoft. His work has earned him Norwegian Grammy (Spellemann) awards and a nomination for the Norwegian Emmy (Gullruten) for soundtrack contributions .[1]

[edit]Austad hails from Asker, Norway. He pursued higher education at Kaospilot in Norway, graduating in 2009 with a Bachelor in Creativity, Innovation & Entrepreneurship. His educational experience emphasized creative project and process management, which he later applied to his creative endeavors. [2]
Career

[edit]After completing his studies, Austad relocated to New York City to delve into music production and songwriting. He established Supervillain, an independent record label and production company. As a beatmaker in Norway and later in the United States through Supervillain, he has produced and written music for various artists, including Karpe, OnklP, Madcon, Cezinando, Bernhoft, and Margie Plus. His work has garnered over 60 million streams[3] and has been recognized with Norwegian Grammys (Spellemann) and a nomination for the Norwegian Emmy (Gullruten) for soundtrack contributions.[4]
Austad's compositions have also been featured in advertising campaigns for brands such as Marc Jacobs and Coach x Selena Gomez, as well as in films like Burning 2 and Arctic Superstar.[5]
Visual Art
[edit]Parallel to his music career, Austad developed a passion for visual arts. He is the creator of "Supergraphics," a vibrant art style characterized by minimal shapes and maximum color, often incorporating resin and glitter to achieve a glossy, jewel-like finish. His artworks have been exhibited in galleries worldwide, including Corey Helford Gallery in Los Angeles and Galleri D40 in Norway.
Notably, Austad painted portraits of the Princess of Norway and Shaman Durek for their royal engagement. He also created a portrait of artist Chanel West Coast, which was showcased at In Heroes We Trust by Melrose Place.[6]
Personal Life
[edit]Austad is married to Margie Plus, an artist and his creative collaborator. Together, they reside in Los Angeles, where they engage in various artistic projects.[7]
