Augusto Loteta Daniel (born April 17, 2007) better known as GusoPapi is an American internet personality, athlete, and rapper. He gained recognition in 2024 for his relatable videos on Snapchat. He began his musical career on SoundCloud, releasing his first song titled "5 Star Mission." As an athlete, he plays soccer, basketball, and American football. He is also a member of the entertainment group Grind Over Kings (G.O.K.).
Early life and education
[edit]GusoPapi was born on April 17, 2007, in Luanda, Angola, to parents from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He is the eldest of five children in his family. He attended Deering High School in Portland, Maine, and after graduating, he began focusing full-time on content creation.
Athletic Career
[edit]GusoPapi began playing soccer at Deering High School in Portland, Maine. In the 2022–2023 season, he scored 11 goals in 15 matches for the junior varsity (JV) team, helping them remain undefeated. The following year, he scored 10 goals and recorded 3 assists, while also training with the varsity team and appearing in playoff matches.[2]
In the 2024–2025 season, he became a full-time varsity player[3][4], playing every match and finishing the season with 10 goals and 1 assist[5]. He received the team’s Golden Boot award [6]and was named to the SMAA All-Conference All-Star Team[7]. Deering reached the semifinals that year, defeating Marshwood in the quarterfinals[8] before falling to Scarborough[9].[10]
Film and Editing Career
[edit]GusoPapi began working as a video editor in 2023, initially offering freelance services through Fiverr. He later began editing content for local entrepreneurs, including work with Luka Buys Houses[11], a real estate brand. In 2025, he directed and edited the short documentary Culture Day at Deering High School,[12][13] which highlighted the school’s cultural diversity and student life[14][15]. The film was independently produced and released online, marking his first public project as a filmmaker.
