Gottfried Theodor Erxleben (1849-1927)was a moravian minister and musicologist.
while serving in moravian congregations in silesia and russia, Erxleben produced manuscripts on moravian music. He also served as the director of a teacher training school located in niesky where he continued work on his manuscript. his final manuscript titled Kleine Choralkunde was produced in retirement. The manuscript contained 153 pages of notes on both text and tunes, and included citations of the opening measures of the tunes.[1] [2] [3][4][5] [6][7][8] [9]
