Season chronology |
Season 3 of Got Talent España aired on Telecinco from 17 January to 11 April 2018, continuing the Spanish adaptation of the global Got Talent franchise. The season was once again hosted by Santi Millán and produced by Fremantle, with the judging panel remaining unchanged from Season 2: Jorge Javier Vázquez, Eva Hache, Edurne, and Risto Mejide all returned.
This season made headlines for multiple reasons. Following controversy over the online voting system in the previous edition, producers scrapped web-based voting altogether. Instead, all votes in Season 3 were cast strictly via phone calls, aiming to ensure greater control and transparency.
Season 3 also earned the distinction of being the longest season in the show's history to date. Stretching over nearly three months, it averaged 2.22 million viewers and achieved a 17.7% audience share, marking a significant success for Telecinco in the ratings game.
Format
[edit]Each judge has the power to press a buzzer if they dislike a performance, with four buzzers stopping the act immediately. The Golden Buzzer returned for this season, allowing each judge and the host to send one act straight to the live semi-finals. In the semi-finals, acts perform live for the public vote, with the judges offering critiques. A collective Golden Buzzer is available during these rounds, allowing the judges to unanimously send one standout act straight to the Grand Final. The winner is ultimately decided by the public vote in the grand final, securing not only the title of Spain’s most talented act but also a cash prize and national recognition.
Winner
[edit]The grand final took place on 11 April 2018, and it was poet César Brandon who ultimately stole the spotlight and won the competition, securing 18.97% of the public vote. Brandon, originally from Equatorial Guinea, captivated both judges and audiences with his powerful, emotionally charged poetry performances—delivered entirely from memory and often revolving around love, humanity, and unity.
Following his win, Brandon's literary career took off. His debut work, Las almas de Brandon, became the best-selling non-fiction book in Spanish during the 2018 Sant Jordi (Book Day) celebrations. He notably outsold prominent Spanish public figures such as Laura Escanes and Miguel Ángel Revilla, cementing his post-show success far beyond the talent competition stage.

Semi-finals summary
[edit]13 acts perform each week, with three advancing to the final. During the semi-finals, the judges have the power to buzz any act. If an act receives four buzzers, their performance will be cut short — though the public can still vote for them from home. Of the three acts that go through each week, one will be chosen via the judges’ group golden buzzer.
