GigRealm is a UK-based technology platform that enables hospitality venues – such as pubs and bars – to book live entertainment acts directly through a commission-free digital platform. It provides tools for finding, vetting, contracting, and paying performers without the use of booking agents or intermediaries.[1]
Overview
[edit]GigRealm offers an end-to-end automated booking system with tools to support venues in organising live entertainment, including access to verified performer profiles, instant GigContracts, Right-to-Work and ID checks and promotional support.[2]
The company is backed by industry, holding partnerships with UKHospitality, the British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA),[3] and the British Institute of Innkeeping (BII).[4] It also partners with organisations in the music industry where it supports musicians looking to gain access to paid-only events across the UK. These include the Musicians' Union,[5] CD Baby, TuneCore, The Ivors Academy, and Tileyard Education, amongst others.[6][7]
GigRealm works with national and independent operators across the UK, including Greene King, helping venues schedule and deliver live music events at scale.[8]
Adoption and Impact
[edit]According to a 2023 report by CGA by NielsenIQ, commissioned in partnership with GigRealm, consumer demand for live music in pubs and bars is high:
- 78% of consumers are more likely to visit a venue offering live music
- 73% are likely to stay longer and spend more
- 76% are more likely to purchase additional drinks during a live event[9]
A separate analysis by NielsenIQ concluded that live music is perceived by consumers as a high-value, low-cost experience and a key driver for midweek visits to venues.[10]
Media coverage in The Times and Morning Advertiser supported these findings, highlighting that weekday live music helps increase revenue and fills quieter trading periods for operators.[11][12]
Technology and Innovation
[edit]GigRealm developed a first to market, groundbreaking SaaS solution to streamline event logistics and cut overheads for venues.[13]
Founders and Board
[edit]GigRealm was founded in 2016 by Tom Brady (Chief Executive Officer) and Reuben Narey (Chief Commercial Officer).[6]
The board includes:
- Emma McClarkin OBE – CEO of the British Beer and Pub Association, Non-Executive Director[14]
- Alison Wenham OBE – former Chair of the Association of Independent Music (AIM) and WIN, music industry executive[15]
