  • Comment: See WP:NARTIST. The Teen Vogue piece is helpful but the Washington Square News is hyper-local and just a mention. The other sources are primary. Usually artists meet the guideline with critical reviews of her work by reputable publications. This also could be WP:TOOSOON. S0091 (talk) 20:43, 23 April 2025 (UTC)

Gabrielle Vazquez (Sometimes Gabby Vazquez) (born 1997)is a New York City-born visual artist, curator, and creative researcher of Puerto Rican and Dominican descent[1]. She currently resides in Brooklyn and currently works in independent curation.

Her artistic focus encompasses the following: Fashion as Art: Vazquez uses fashion and textiles as a medium for fine art, exploring themes of language, colonial structures, Indigenous politics, and identity reclamation in the Americas; Cultural Reclamation and Memory: Her work delves into the consequences of systemic erasure, questioning existing institutions and elevating silenced voices, particularly through the lens of Taíno iconography and language[2]; Intersectionality: Her art also examines the intersections of language, notions of materiality, and Spanish-Caribbean history[3].

Vazquez has taken part in group exhibitions at notable New York institutions such as The Clemente Soto Cultural & Educational Center[4], Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts[5], and the Joan Mitchell Foundation[6], all in New York, NY — separate from fashion shows that have taken place at Studio Arte (via IMPACT NYFW, 2022)[7] and The Brotherhood Sister Sol, both in New York, NY; and House of Yes[8], Brooklyn, NY. Additionally, Vazquez has had work featured in an Apex Art award-winning exhibition in São Paulo, Brazil called "Text Me When You Get Home (TMWYGH)," which highlights the cultivation of safety networks and emphasis on social, cultural resilience in light of global femincide[9].

As a Curator, Vazquez was behind the development of two Parsons: The New School exhibitions organized by Parsons' "Enclothed Collective" (2021-22)[10], was a co-curator for ASMP's "Uncovering the Laws of Perseverance" exhibition, 2021[11], and is currently curating and designing media for an NYC-based Filmmaker whose recent work delves into material culture.

Vazquez has had residences at The EFA Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop, The Center for Urban Pedagogy[12], and The Joan Mitchell Foundation. She received a BFA in Fashion Design from Parsons: The New School, and an MA in Anthropology from The New School for Social Research[13].
