Frenship Memorial High School is a public high school located in Lubbock, Texas, United States. It is currently in construction and will open in August 2025.to all students.[3] The school serves students in grades 9-10 from Frenship ISD in parts of southwest and northwest Lubbock with students zoned from Frenship Heritage Middle School and Terra Vista Middle School attending.[4]
History
[edit]Memorial High School was first planned in 2020 after a bond for $299.7 million was accepted by voters in Frenship.[5] The high school was planned due to the only high school, Frenship High School, was estimated to reach capacity in 2023.[6] Frenship partnered with Lee Lewis Construction to build the school and started construction in summer of 2022.[6]
Name, color and mascot voting
[edit]In 2024, Frenship asked students from Frenship Heritage Middle School and Frenship Terra Vista Middle School to vote on the mascot and school colors for FMHS.[7] Students voted the panther for their mascot and "Frenship" royal blue and bright blue for their colors.[7] In 2023, the name was also voten on and ended up on Frenshp Memorial High School.[6]
