Mehdi Forkani
[edit]Mehdi Forkani (born July 28, 2000, in Casablanca, Morocco) is a Moroccan software developer, project manager, and full-stack web development coach. He is known for leading high-impact digital projects across Africa and mentoring young developers through his work at LionsGeek.
Early Life and Education
[edit]Forkani obtained a baccalauréat in Physical Experimental Sciences before pursuing a diploma in Commerce. Despite his academic background in business, he discovered a deep passion for technology and programming. Largely self-taught, he began coding independently and quickly grew into a recognized developer and project leader in the North African tech ecosystem.
Career
[edit]Forkani is currently a software developer and coach at LionsGeek, a tech company focused on empowering youth through digital tools. Over the years, he has worked on several prominent platforms including:
- Casatourat – a featured cultural guide project
- YES Africa – a cross-continental youth empowerment initiative where he developed the mobile app, e-learning platform, and website for the summit
Through these projects, Forkani has contributed to advancing NGO collaboration and youth development across Africa. His work emphasizes the use of accessible, user-friendly tech to solve real-world problems.
