Submission declined on 17 March 2025 by Curb Safe Charmer (talk). This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Wikipedia's verifiability policy and the notability of the subject can be established. If you still feel that this subject is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies. This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of music-related topics). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia. Declined by Curb Safe Charmer 3 months ago. | ![]() |

Florence Road is an Irish rock band formed in Bray, County Wicklow in 2019. The group consists of Lily Aron, Emma Brandon, Ailbhe Barry, and Hannah Kelly. They gained recognition in 2025 following the release of their debut single, "Heavy". The band signed to Warner Records and Warner Chappell Music, and have received coverage in music publications such as Rolling Stone, which highlighted their blend of introspective lyrics and 1990s-inspired alternative rock.[1]
History
[edit]Formation and early years
[edit]Florence Road was formed by four childhood friends in Bray, County Wicklow. The members began writing and performing music together in a garden shed and initially attracted attention through fisheye-lens performance videos shared on social media.[1]
Debut and rise (2025)
[edit]In March 2025, the band released their debut single "Heavy", co-written with Marshall Vore and John Hill.[2] The track received favorable reviews and a notable endorsement from American singer Olivia Rodrigo, increasing its streaming popularity.
Their second single, "Caterpillar", produced by Dan Nigro, followed in April 2025. It was praised for its acoustic instrumentation and its lyrical exploration of anxiety and personal transformation.[3]
In June 2025, Florence Road released their debut EP, Fall Back, preceded by the single "Figure It Out".[4]
Label signing and live performances
[edit]Shortly after completing secondary school, Florence Road signed a worldwide publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music and a recording contract with Warner Records.[5]
The band supported Olivia Rodrigo during selected dates of her *Guts World Tour*, including performances at Marlay Park in Dublin and BST Hyde Park in London.[6] They have also appeared at several music festivals such as Electric Picnic, Truck Festival, Kendal Calling, and Victorious Festival.[7]
Musical style and influences
[edit]Florence Road's music combines elements of indie rock, grunge pop, and 1990s alternative rock. Their lyrics often address themes of anxiety, emotional vulnerability, and self-discovery. Rolling Stone characterized their sound as "a charmingly raw blend of early Liz Phair and 2010s Tumblr rock, but filtered through the Irish seaside air".[1]
The band has been compared to artists such as Wolf Alice, The Cranberries, and Phoebe Bridgers.[4][3]
