Finanzministertrick is a simple technique that implies the adding and subtracting a mathematical constant or variable which allows for further manipulation. This technique is widely used in Mathematical Analysis and Measure Theory. The name of the technique was popularized in a Measure Theory lecture of the Mathematics Faculty of the University of Vienna that took place in the schoolyear 2023/2024. The first official mentioning of this term was published in a paper [1] containing integrals and solutions of Integration Bee Austria.
