The Fatherland Liberation war Commemoration Medal was awarded by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea). It was established on August 13th, 1953 to commemorate the victory of the Korean People’s Army in the Korean War (Fatherland Liberation War). It was awarded to all members of the Korean People’s army and civilians that participated in combat or contributed to the war effort as well as the Chinese People’s Volunteers.
Design
It is a 36mm silver medal with the obverse featuring two North Korean soldiers with a T-34 tank and two airplanes in the background. The reverse inscription says “In Commemoration of The Great Fatherland Liberation War 1950-53”
