Fadhel Kaboub (c.1977) is a Tunisian-born economist who serves as Associate Professor of Economics at Denison University and as President of the Global Institute for Sustainable Prosperity (GISP). He is known for his work on monetary sovereignty, job creation programs and the political economy of the Global South, particularly the Middle East and North Africa.

Early life and education
[edit]Kaboub earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics (Distinction) from the University of Tunis in June 1999, followed by both an M.A. in Economics (May 2001) and a Ph.D. in Economics & Social Science (2006) from the University of Missouri–Kansas City, where he studied under mentors including Stephanie Kelton .
Academic career
[edit]Denison University (2008–present): Joined as Visiting Assistant Professor (2005–06), later Assistant Professor (2008–14), and then Associate Professor in 2014. Teaches courses in macroeconomics, monetary theory, and the political economy of the Middle East .
Drew University (2006–08): Assistant Professor of Economics; directed the Wall Street Semester Program.
Simon’s Rock College of Bard (2004–05): Visiting Faculty in Economics.
His research operates within the Post‐Keynesian and Institutionalist traditions, arguing that sovereign monetary systems can sustainably finance full employment, universal healthcare, and ecological improvements. Recent emphases include youth unemployment, financial sovereignty in developing countries, and the political economy of the Arab uprisings .
