Fabio Casagrande (born January 10, 1976) is a Brazilian-Italian racing driver known for his career in karting, Formula 3, GT3, and touring cars. Throughout his career, Casagrande has competed in a variety of national and international championships, achieving notable success including two TCR South America Trophy Cup titles.
Early career
[edit]Casagrande began his racing career in 1989 in karting, winning his first race in the Junior category of the Campineiro Kart Championship.
Formula racing
[edit]He made his Formula 3 debut in 2003 in the South American F3 Light category. Between 2004 and 2006, he competed in the main class of South American Formula 3.
GT racing
[edit]From 2007 to 2008, Casagrande participated in the GT3 Brasil series, driving a Dodge Viper. He also raced in the GT3 Europe series, where he drove a Ferrari F430 Scuderia.
Touring cars
[edit]Casagrande currently competes in the TCR South America Touring Car Championship in the Trophy class for semi-professional drivers. Driving car number 34 for Squadra Martino, he won the Trophy Cup in 2022 and 2023. He is the only Trophy-class driver in the world to win a TCR race overall.
Personal symbols
[edit]Casagrande’s helmet features the colors of the Brazilian flag and includes a stripe with the colors of the Italian flag, representing his Italian citizenship.
