Eklavya Jagal (born February 14, 2007) in Mumbai Maharashtra India is an Indian short track speed skater[1] Eklavya Jagal is a registered and recognised skater of Ice skating association of India which is the national governing body for competitive ice skating in India. [2]
Biography
[edit]Eklavya Jagal began his skating journey as inline roller skater at the age of 10. He used to initially do part time practice of short track ice skating at the small (45 Meters) recreational ice skating rink iSkate situated at Gurugram Ambience mall.[3] Eklavya has done his schooling from Amity International School Noida.[4] [5] [6]
Eklavya has been the gold medals winner for the 5 consecutive years. He is the national record holder in India.[7] [5] [8]
He participated in the 3rd Khelo India Winter Games in February 2023 and secured 2 Gold medals..[9] [10] [11] He also won a Gold medal in the 4th edition of Khelo India Winter Games [4]
At the Indonesia Open Short Track Championship (Jakarta - 2023) he secured 3 Gold Medals in the categories of 500m, 1000m and 1500m. He won a bronze medal at the 8th Jász Cup held in Hungary in January 2024 and Earned a Bronze medal in the 500 meters.[12] In his debut at the 9th Asian Winter Games (Harbin, China - February 2025): games, Jagal achieved a 23rd rank in the 500 meters distance event.[13]
