Eiji Miyakawa (born July 1972) is a Japanese licensed lawyer and entrepreneur. He is currently the CEO and founder of Digital Wallet Group[1]. He founded the company with his former colleagues from Sony Group Corporation in 2014.

Early Life

Eiji Miyakawa was born in Tokyo, Japan in July 1972 and grew up with one sister. They were raised by their mother and father, Koji Miyakawa, who is a former judge of the Supreme Court of Japan.

Miyakawa attended Waseda University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in law in 1996. After that, he attended law school provided by the Supreme Court of Japan and became a licensed lawyer in 1999.

Career

Sony Group Corporation

After becoming an attorney in 1999, Miyakawa entered the IT industry, starting his full-time career at Sony. During his time there, he launched FeliCa Networks, a joint venture with NTT Docomo offering mobile payment services.

In 2001, Miyakawa became General Manager at Sony Corporation's Global Cloud Platform Development and Management Department, overseeing digital services for TV, audio, PlayStation, entertainment services, etc.

Digital Wallet Group

In 2014, Miyakawa resigned from Sony and founded Digital Wallet Group with his former colleagues.

Personal Life

Eiji Miyakawa is married with one child. The family resides in Tokyo, Japan.
