Daniel Webster Ambrose Jr. (1896–1992) also known as D. W. Ambrose,[1] was an American lawyer and government official in Huntington, West Virginia. He was a Democrat.[2]
Biography
[edit]Daniel Webster Ambrose Jr. was born on September 8, 1896, in Pickens, Mississippi, to parents Mary E. (née Redmond) and Daniel Webster Ambrose Sr..[3][4][5] He served in the United States Army during World War I.[2]
In 1940, he was elected president of the Mountain State Bar Association.[1] He served as an assistant auditor of the State of West Virginia.[6] President Harry S. Truman appointed him as a government secretary for the Virgin Islands in 1950.[7]
