Dan Reehil
[edit]Daniel Reehil (born August 4, 1965) is an American Catholic priest currently serving as the Pastor of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Columbia, Tennessee. He is also the Dean of the South Deanery and an appointed exorcist for the Diocese of Nashville.[1]
Early Life and Education
[edit]Reehil was born in Mineola, New York, to Dan and Gladys Reehil. He is the oldest of four children. His father was a New York City Fire Chief, and his mother became a court reporter once the children were in school.[2]
He attended the University of Dayton, where he completed his undergraduate degree. Following graduation, Reehil pursued a career in global finance.[2]
Business Career
[edit]For over ten years, Reehil worked in Manhattan with American Express and Citicorp in the fields of global trade and finance. He later transitioned to a corporate communications firm, where he served as the Sales Director for three years.[2]
Religious Conversion
[edit]In 1998, Reehil made a pilgrimage to Medjugorje, a village in Bosnia and Herzegovina known for reported Marian apparitions. During the trip, he experienced what he described as a miraculous spiritual conversion after two decades away from the Catholic Church. A priest who heard his confession during the pilgrimage told him he may have a vocation to the priesthood.[3]
Discernment and Formation
[edit]Following the September 11 attacks in 2001, Reehil left New York City and moved to Boston. There, he began discerning a religious vocation under the mentorship of Fr. Tom DiLorenzo, a diocesan priest he credits as his most significant spiritual role model.[4]
Reehil entered Holy Apostles Seminary, where he studied philosophy and theology. After two years of theological studies, he left seminary to live as a contemplative hermit in Omaha, Nebraska. He spent five years living under the Evangelical Counsels of poverty, chastity, and obedience.[4]
He later returned to seminary to complete his theological formation.[4]
Online Work
[edit]Since July 27, 2020, Father Dan Reehil has served as Pastor of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Columbia, Tennessee, and as Vicar Forane of the Southern Deanery. In addition to his pastoral duties, he is the appointed exorcist for the Diocese of Nashville.[2]
Father Reehil is also the National Director of Radio Maria USA, a Catholic radio network. He assumed the role in 2020 and has since overseen the network’s expansion into additional states and a broader listening audience. He hosts a daily program titled Battle Ready with Fr. Dan Reehil, which focuses on spiritual growth, Catholic teaching, and evangelization.[2][5]
YouTube Appearances
[edit]Father Dan Reehil, a Catholic priest and designated exorcist of the Diocese of Nashville, has gained prominence through several widely viewed interviews and video series on YouTube. His appearances often focus on spiritual warfare, demonic possession, and his personal journey from corporate finance to the priesthood.
Inside the Demonic World with an Exorcist
[edit]On The Shawn Ryan Show, Reehil discusses his experiences with demonic manifestations and the path that led him from Wall Street to becoming an exorcist. He offers insight into spiritual realities and the Church’s role in confronting evil.[6]
Exorcist Reveals What He’s Seen
[edit]In a segment hosted by Ave Maria Radio, Reehil details personal accounts of exorcisms and emphasizes the power of the sacraments and prayer in resisting evil influences.[7]
Michael & The Exorcist: "I Saw Her Crawl Up A Wall"
[edit]On The Michael Knowles Show, Reehil shares a chilling anecdote of witnessing a person crawl up a wall during an exorcism. The episode explores how demonic activity is present yet often dismissed in modern culture.[8]
From Wall Street to Exorcisms
[edit]Appearing on the Lila Rose Podcast, Reehil recounts his career transformation and spiritual awakening that followed a pilgrimage to Medjugorje. He discusses the emptiness of secular success and the fulfillment he found in religious life.[9]
Ask the Exorcist (YouTube Series)
[edit]On his own YouTube channel, Reehil hosts Ask the Exorcist, a series addressing questions on demonic influence, possession, and the Church’s approach to spiritual warfare.[10]
Priesthood and Ministry
[edit]Near the conclusion of his studies, Reehil was invited by Bishop David Choby to visit the Diocese of Nashville. After discernment, both Reehil and Bishop Choby agreed that Middle Tennessee would become his new spiritual home.
Reehil was ordained a priest on July 26, 2014, and was assigned as Parochial Vicar at St. Edward Parish. In 2016, he was named Pastor of the parish.
Ministry of Exorcism
[edit]In addition to his pastoral duties, Fr. Reehil serves as the official exorcist for the Diocese of Nashville. Appointed by the bishop, he underwent specialized training to perform the Rite of Exorcism, as outlined in the Roman Catholic Church’s protocols.[1]
Fr. Reehil has spoken publicly about the reality of spiritual warfare and the Church’s response to cases of alleged demonic possession or oppression. He emphasizes that full exorcisms are rare and that most individuals who seek help require pastoral care, counseling, or sacramental reconciliation rather than the solemn rite itself.
As an exorcist, he works closely with medical professionals, mental health experts, and Church authorities to discern authentic cases. In interviews and talks, he has described the process as one rooted in compassion, discretion, and deep prayer, with the goal of spiritual healing and liberation.[11]
Personal Life
[edit]Reehil has expressed deep gratitude for his role at St. Catherine’s Parish and considers it a privilege to serve the parish community.
