DJ Wisdom Cipher

DJ Wisdom Cipher is an American DJ, music producer, and cultural curator known for blending hip-hop, jazz, soul, and electronic music into conscious, spiritually-rooted soundscapes. Based in North Carolina, DJ Wisdom Cipher has garnered recognition for his philosophical approach to music, often incorporating elements of spoken word, Five-Percent Nation ideology, and Afrofuturism in his performances and recordings. He is a producer, and also the Founder, and CEO of the Hip-Hop recording label, "Dirty South Records".

Career

DJ Wisdom Cipher started performing at underground parties, clubs, and events since his youth. His mixtapes—most notably The Knowledge Tape and The Wisdom Tape—combined classic hip-hop breaks with obscure samples from jazz, world music, and spiritual recordings. During this time period, he developed a new style of DJing he coined as "Drum Sample Riding", his signature technique is well regarded among his peers. When he started creating beats and instrumentals, he incorporated his techniques into his sound. In May of 2025, he dropped his acclaimed single "TEXAS GODFATHER" which features Texas rapper, Milllireyy. Since then he has released various singles, and two EP projects.

Style and Influences DJ Wisdom Cipher's style is a fusion of golden-era hip-hop, lo-fi beats, spiritual jazz, and abstract electronica. Lyrically and thematically, his work draws heavily from Black consciousness movements, including the Nation of Gods and Earths, Pan-Africanism, and Afrocentric mysticism.
