Cristian Barresi (born 6 January 2006) is an Australian semi-professional footballer who plays as a Forward for Tigers FC.
Club career
[edit]Barresi begun his football career playing his youth football for Gungahlin United in the National Premier Leagues Capital Football youth competitions, starting at the club in Under 11s.
In 2018 Cristian was named U13 NPL player of the year by Capital Football.[1]
Sydney
[edit]In 2019, Cristian made the move to Sydney, joining the U13s squad of Sydney Olympic in the National Premier Leagues NSW. In 2019 Cristian helped Sydney Olympic win the NPL Boys grand final. In 2021 Cristian Barresi would then join the Western Sydney Wanderers Academy, playing for their U15s NPL Team. He then made the switch to Sydney United which is where he would play until 2023 when he returned to Canberra.
Return to Canberra
[edit]Cristian Returned to Canberra in 2023 after a successful stint in Sydney, signing for Gungahlin United's First Grade team at the age of 18, returning to play with his former teammate at youth level: Dylan Peraić-Cullen.
Back to Sydney United
[edit]In 2023 Cristian would return to Sydney to play for Sydney United's U20s Squad in the NPL Mens NSW where his impressive performances would continue.
Tigers FC
[edit]In October 2024, Cristian returned to Canberra once again to play for NPL ACT Grand Finalists Tigers FC, who had brought back many other Canberra players from Sydney. On his debut friendly match against the Newcastle Jets NPL side, Cristian netted 2 Goals, one being a free kick. He has been given the Number 10 Shirt.
Representative career
[edit]- Barresi represented the ACT at the U13s National Youth Championships in Coffs harbour[2]
- Barresi represented NSW in their Schoolboys team to play at the National Schoolsport Championships[3]
