Geography
[edit]Churaibari lies in northeastern India, surrounded by hilly forests. The village is positioned along National Highway 8 (NH-08), which connects the capital city of Agartala in Tripura to Guwahati in Assam. It marks the northern edge of Tripura, acting as a gateway between the two states.
Transport
[edit]Churaibari serves as a key transportation hub between the states of Tripura and Assam, owing to its location on the vital National Highway 8 (NH-08). This highway connects Tripura’s capital Agartala with major cities like Guwahati and the rest of mainland India. All road traffic entering or exiting Tripura by land must pass through Churaibari, making it a strategic transit point for both passenger and freight transport.
The Churaibari railway station, located within Tripura, provides rail connectivity to nearby towns such as Dharmanagar, and connects further to stations in Assam. It lies on the broad-gauge railway line that links Tripura with Assam and other parts of northeastern India.
Public and private bus services are also available, connecting Churaibari to major urban centers such as Agartala, Dharmanagar, Silchar, Kumarghat, Karimganj, and Guwahati.

- Roadside businesses such as eateries, vehicle repair shops, and lodges
- Local trade in agricultural and forest produce
- Employment in logistics, transport agencies, and state enforcement services
Development
[edit]Infrastructure improvements in and around Churaibari include:
- Widening of NH-08 into a four-lane highway to handle increasing traffic

Challenges
[edit]Churaibari, despite its importance, faces several issues:
- Chronic traffic congestion due to slow processing at checkposts
- Lack of urban infrastructure such as drainage, sanitation, and healthcare
- Enforcement challenges in curbing smuggling and regulatory evasion
Demographics
