It stands as a platform for the harmonious coexistence of people of different religions and their places of worship. Annamanada Edayattoor, Annamanada area was part of Meladoor parish. When the idea of a church in Annamanada came up, things progressed with the view of a parish formed by the cooperation of the neighboring areas of Kumbidi and Kallur, which are adjacent to Annamanada, for the sake of common understanding. Therefore, the vicars of Meladoor, Ambazhakad and Kumbidi churches came together and formed a committee and, as per the instructions of Rev. Joseph Kundukulam and Rev. James Pazhayattil, decided on the present place which was considered appropriate for the church and decided to conduct the affairs under the leadership of the vicar of Meladoor church. Hon.  Under the leadership of Father Ignatius Chungath, Rev. James Pazhayattil laid the foundation stone of the church on 25th December 1980 and started the work. After some time, when Rev. Fr. Chungath moved, Rev. Fr. Sebastian Valiyaveetil became the Vicar of Meladoor.[1]

Church and Parish

With the enthusiasm of the Father, funds were collected through various means, and the work was expedited and completed beautifully. On 24th November 1985, the Holy Communion was celebrated under the presiding of Rev. James Pazhayattil. On the same day, it was declared an independent parish with definite boundaries (DL/4/85, 767.30.10.85 wef 24.11.85). The late Rev. Fr.  I remember the service of Father George Maliyekkal with gratitude.

Mr. Kannampilli Antony and Mr. Kattookkaran George were the craftsmen who served for a long time during the construction of the church. Mr. Kannampilli Antony and Mr. Kannampuzha Sany, who have passed away, served as members of the church construction committee. Rev. Fr. Sebastian Valiyaveet is the founding vicar. The cemetery was prepared and cleaned some time before the consecration of the church.

The family gathering began during the time of Rev. Fr. Paul Chirayam. According to the opinion of the later Rev. Job Chittilapilliachchan, the vicars of the nearby Kumbidi church were appointed as

the vicars of the Annamanada church for convenience. On 24.11.1995, the Rev. During the tenth anniversary celebrations of the parish, a large religious education hall and an adjoining priest's house were built at a cost of Rs. 8 lakhs under the leadership of Father Sebastian Karippayi. Out of this amount, Rs. 1 lakh was donated by the locals and the remaining Rs. 7 lakhs was donated from abroad through Rev. C. Regis CHF.

In accordance with the long-standing desire of the parishioners, Rev. Fr. Raphael Panjikaran was appointed as the independent vicar in 1997. This paved the way for the all-round growth of the parish. During this period, the Oottuthiru Naal of Father Joseph began in 1999.

Monasteries and Institutions

A branch house under the Holy Spirit Province of the Thirukudumba Sanyasinisam was built near the church and an institution called Asha Bhavan for disabled girls was built near the church on 18 April 1993 by His Holiness the Venerable Father. More than 40 children are staying in Asha Bhavan and are undergoing their studies and training.

In addition, on 27 October 2000, the Our Lady of Mercy

Holy Family Convent & Asha Bhavan

based in Sevilla, Spain, established a house near the junction in this parish for the first time in India. This is also their monastic training center.

Chapels

Years before the construction of the Annamanada church, the Hon. During the time of George Maliyekalach, a St. Sebastian's chapel was established in the Edayattur area. A small chapel of Christ was established near the gate of the church in 1999.
