Choi Beomgyu (Korean: 최범규; born March 13, 2001), known mononymously as Beomgyu, is a South Korean singer, songwriter and dancer. He is a member of the South Korean boy band Tomorrow X Together, formed by Big Hit Entertainment in March 2019.
Early Life
[edit]Beomgyu was born on March 13, 2001, in Daegu, South Korea. He attended Hanlim Multi Art School in Seoul, focusing on Practical Dance. Before his debut, he was put in the debut line up immediately after joining the company. He trained under BigHit Music for three years and was known for his musical abilities, particularly playing the guitar.
Career
[edit]2019–present: Debut with TXT
[edit]Beomgyu debuted as a member of Tomorrow X Together along with Yeonjun, Soobin, Taehyun, Huening Kai on March 4, 2019, with the release of their extended play (EP) The Dream Chapter: Star[1] when he was 17 years old. The group quickly gained international recognition, topping music charts and winning multiple "Rookie of the Year" awards. [2]
As part of TXT, Beomgyu has contributed to songwriting, producing and has been praised for his stage presence and vocal abilities.[3] In 2023 He performed a song he produced (Thursdays Child Has Far To Go) at Lollapalooza Chicago [4]
Beomgyu's dedication to his music and his role within the band was further explored in an interview where he shared his love for his bandmates and his creative process.[5] [6] [7] [8]
His role in TXT’s albums and performances has been recognized by major publications such as Vogue and Billboard.[9] Beomgyu's emotional connection with fans was highlighted during a live broadcast, where he expressed his gratitude and experiences.[10]
Solo Variety Show
In each episode, Beomgyu challenges himself with various sports and fitness activities, aiming to earn the title of 'Workout Zzang.' The show not only highlights his athletic endeavors but also showcases his vibrant personality and ability to engage with both guests and viewers.
Throughout the series, Beomgyu has participated in activities such as jumping, hiking, bungee fitness, home training, judo, and soccer. His enthusiastic approach and natural humor have been well-received by fans and audiences alike.
Reflecting on the experience, Beomgyu expressed his excitement and gratitude, stating, "Starting 'Workout Zzang Beomgyu' was an exciting opportunity, and I eagerly anticipated every filming day. I'm so happy that many people enjoyed the show. I hope to continue showing my best and become TXT's true 'Workout King'."

Artistry
[edit]Beomgyu is known for his diverse talents, including singing, dancing, and playing the guitar. He has also participated in songwriting, producing and composing for TXT's albums. [3]
From a young age Beomgyu has been exposed to music, his father having taught him how to play the guitar. Beomgyu uses his guitar to write songs.
