Chernikovsk (Russian: Черниковск) was a short-lived city in the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (BASSR) of the USSR, existing from 1944 to 1956.[1][2] Formed on December 5, 1944, from the industrial Stalinsky District of Ufa.
Initially centered around the village of Motornoe and the Chernikovka railway station,[3] the city incorporated several nearby settlements. On July 24, 1956, Chernikovsk was merged back into Ufa, becoming one of its districts[4]—now the historical neighborhood known as Chernikovka. The city played a key role in the Ufimsky-Chernikovsky industrial hub and left a lasting architectural legacy shaped by architects such as Salomea Gelfer and Margarita Kupriyanova.
