History:

In 1962, construction began in Cherkasy for the Cherkasy Chemical Plant, now known as Private Joint-Stock Company "Azot". In 1963, the city council allocated 2.04 hectares of land for a technical school to train workers for the future industrial enterprise. The institution was founded in 1966, originally named "Technical School No. 2 of Cherkasy". Over time, it underwent multiple reorganizations:

- 1984 → Renamed "Secondary Vocational Technical School No. 10 of Cherkasy" - 1991 → Renamed "Higher Vocational School No. 10 of Cherkasy" - 1995 → Established as "Cherkasy Model Center for Training and Retraining of Specialists" - 2000 → Became Cherkasy State Business College, focusing on Junior Specialist and Bachelor’s degrees

During its early years, the institution primarily trained specialists for Azot Corporation. In the 1990s, economic and social transformations led to new educational approaches.

In 1994, amid Ukraine’s economic crisis, the institution won a national competition by the Ministry of Education to participate in an international project, collaborating with the German Federal Ministry of Education, Science, and Research. This resulted in the creation of a Model Training Center for Entrepreneurship, introducing commercial training programs in Ukraine.

In 1995, the first 72 students enrolled in the "Commercial Activities" specialty. Five faculty members trained in Germany.

By 1997, the institution was officially reorganized into the Cherkasy Model Center for Training and Retraining of Specialists.

Finally, in 2000, it was officially established as Cherkasy State Business College[4]
