Carepatron
[edit]Carepatron is a healthcare practice management software platform that integrates electronic health records (EHR), telehealth, appointment scheduling, billing, task management, and artificial intelligence (AI)-powered clinical tools into a unified workspace.[1][2].
History
[edit]Founded in 2021 by Jamie Frew and David Pene, Carepatron provides healthcare tools for solo practitioners and small teams. In July 2022, the company raised NZD 1.6 million (approx. $980,000) in pre-seed funding led by Blackbird Ventures. This was followed by an AU$ 6 million (approx. $4 million) seed round in late 2023, co-led by Blackbird and TQ Ventures.[3][4][5]
In 2025, Carepatron was cited in a study about Ezra N.S. Lockhart on the effects of telehealth towards ADHD treatment[6]. Carepatron was also highly commended at the NZ Hi-Tech Awards under the Most Innovative Hi-Tech Software Solution category in the same year[7]
Platform Overview
[edit]Carepatron has an EHR & Documentation function that can be utilized for creating custom clinical templates (e.g., SOAP, DAP, BIRP), securing document storage, transcribing notes, and coding support. The platform also has a Telehealth feature which enables integrated browser-based video calls, virtual waiting rooms, and secure messaging.
Users can also manage online bookings, implement multi-time zone calendar sync, and automate SMS/email reminders in-app, as well as handle payment billing and insurance. The platform also carries AI capabilities and other practice management functions.
According to Carepatron's website, their platform is also HIPAA, PIPEDA, GDPR, SOC2, and PDPA compliant.
Pricing Model
[edit]Carepatron uses a freemium model with tiered plans[8][9]. Monthly user-based pricing starts from $0 (Free) to $29 (Advanced).
