Cala Calella, or simply, la Calella, is a small rocky cove in the Spanish municipality of Torroella de Montgrí, within the territory of the Decentralized Municipal Entity of L' Estartit (Baix Empordà). It is located on the coast of the Montgrí Massif, between the tip of Les Salines and La Trona, within the Montgrí, Medes Islands and Baix Ter Natural Park. It is accessed by the coastal path that connects the towns of L'Estartit and L'Escala. At the bottom of the cove there is a small rocky beach. To reach the cove from the port, you must follow Cap de la Barra Street, which goes uphill. At the end of this road, some stairs serve as access to the Mirador del Cap de la Barra, with spectacular views of the Medes Islands and the El Molinet rock. After the viewpoint, continuing along the path, we find a turnoff on the left that takes us to the Pou de la Calella, a 55-meter-deep chasm caused by the erosion of the limestone rocks that form the massif. About a hundred meters before reaching it, we find, on the right bank of the path, the reef-islet called Punta dels Arquets.
