Bronte Carmichael is a British actress known for her roles in Christopher Robin (2018), Andor (2022–present), Game of Thrones (2019), and Robin Robin (2021).
Bronte Carmichael was born in England. She is the daughter of actor Tristan Sturrock and actor-director Katy Carmichael.[1]
Career
[edit]2017–2018: Early Roles & Breakthrough with Christopher Robin
[edit]Carmichael made her feature film debut in Darkest Hour (2017), portraying Young Girl on the Tube. The following year, she starred as Madeline Robin, the daughter of Christopher Robin (played by Ewan McGregor), in Disney's Christopher Robin (2018).[2]
Her performance was widely praised, with McGregor stating, "Bronte is one of the most talented young actors I've ever worked with."[3] Hayley Atwell, who played her mother in the film, also praised her performance, saying, "She has such a natural instinct for acting—she listens, she reacts, and she brings something truly special to every scene."[4] Carmichael's role earned her a Young Artist Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
2019–2021: Game of Thrones, Robin Robin, and Voice Work
[edit]In 2019, Carmichael joined the cast of HBO's Game of Thrones as Martha, a servant to Daenerys Targaryen in Season 8.[5] She also played Spiria in Ridley Scott's HBO Max sci-fi series Raised by Wolves.
In 2021, Carmichael voiced Robin in the Aardman-Netflix animated short film Robin Robin. The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film and won an Ivor Novello Award for Best Soundtrack.[6]
2022–Present: Andor and Recent Work
[edit]In 2022, Carmichael joined the Star Wars franchise as Leida Mothma, the daughter of Mon Mothma (Genevieve O'Reilly), in Andor. She appeared in six episodes of Season 1 and is set to return in Season 2, scheduled for release in 2025.[7]
In 2023, she portrayed Julia in Season 2 of Halo on Paramount+.
