Bogdan Ștefan Popa (born 4 June 1997) is a Romanian professional basketball player for CSM Târgu Mureş of the Liga Naționala in Romania.
National team
[edit]Bogdan Popa is a member of the Romanian national basketball team. He was part of the Romanian national team that won the FIBA U20 European Championship, Division B, in 2017.[1]
He was Romania's top scorer with 17 points in the 72–63 victory against Albania, in a game that counted for the third round of Group I in the final stage of the pre-qualifiers for the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers.[2]
Active years
[edit]Bogdan Popa was discovered by CSS Ploiești and joined the Asesoft Academy in 2012, the same year he was called up to Romania’s U16 national team. That year, he also signed a three-year contract with one of Europe’s top clubs, Unicaja Malaga, in Spain.[3]
