Draft:Black Country Ales

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Black Country Ales is a chain of pubs based in Stourbridge, United Kingdom.[1] It was founded in 1999, going on to open 53 premises as of June 2025.[2][3] Black Country Ales produces six of its own ales that are sold both online and at each pub.[4] Pubs are owned by the chain, and rely on licensees to run individual premises.

History

[edit]

The brewery has roots in the Black Country, where brewing of ales first began in 1834 at the Old Bull's Head[5]. The chain began brewing its own ales in 2004, and has since continued production[6]. The chain's first pub was the Lawford Arms in Rugby, opened in April 1992. Subsequent pubs were opened in 2002, and the chain has grown linearly since.
