Bite Down are a Swedish metalcore band formed in Jönköping in 2019.[2] The group have released three extended plays – Trial // Error (2020), Damage Control (2022) and Decolorized (2024) – and several standalone singles. They have supported Orbit Culture, Aviana and ALLT on European tours, and appeared at Gefle Metal Festival and Helltown Festival.[3]
History
[edit]2019–2020: Formation and Trial // Error
[edit]Bite Down formed in 2019 when Joaquin Rojas Rodriguez, Jacob Mild and Hampus Ströberg began writing songs influenced by North American and Australian hardcore.[2] Their debut single “Mr. Thompson” arrived in early 2020, followed by the four-track EP Trial // Error on 16 October 2020.[4] UK web-zine *Hardbeat* praised the stand-alone single “Lost” for its “pure power” and blend of metalcore and hardcore elements.[5]
2021–2023: Damage Control and growing attention
[edit]Released 31 March 2022 through We Are Triumphant,[6] Damage Control featured the singles “Synthetic Smile,” “Snipe Hunt” and “Nothing’s Forever,” produced by Matt Guglielmo. The DCxPC Live blog described the 2024 single “Ynoga” as “a three-minute banger” mixing deathcore and djent influences.[7]
2024–present: Decolorized, touring and new singles
[edit]In May 2024 the band issued their third EP, Decolorized, mixed and mastered by Buster Odeholm.[3] They supported Orbit Culture on the “Descending Into Madness” European tour, including a sold-out Helsinki date on 2 April 2024.[8] Stand-alone singles followed, including “Life Sentence,” “Beautiful Gloom” and “Decolorized.” Lambgoat covered the release of “Decolorized” on 18 April 2024 and “Wastage” on 30 May 2025.[9][10]
Musical style and influences
[edit]Commentators characterise Bite Down’s sound as modern metalcore that blends hardcore breakdowns with industrial-tinged production and djent-style riffs, drawing comparisons to Darko US, ten56 and Knocked Loose.[11]
