The BioInnovation Institute (BII) is a non-profit foundation established in 2020 in Copenhagen, Denmark with a grant from the Novo Nordisk Foundation.[1][2][3]. It operates an international business incubator aimed at the acceleration of start-ups based on bio-based scientific discoveries[4][5][6][7], typically as university spin-outs[8][9][10][11], as well as on quantum engineering in collaboration with NATO[12]. BII administers the BII & Science Prize for Innovation in cooperation with the American Association for the Advancement of Science[13][14].
At the end of 2023, BII had invested 115 million € across 101 start-up projects[15]
