Bijoyar Pore (Bengali: বিজয়ার পরে, Autumn Flies) is a 2024 Indian Bengali-language psychological family drama film written and directed by Abhijit SriDas in his directorial debut. The film stars Padma Shri awardee Mamata Shankar, Swastika Mukherjee, and Deepankar De in pivotal roles. It was theatrically released on 12 January 2024 and ran successfully for six weeks in cinemas across India.
Set against the vibrant cultural canvas of Durga Puja, the film follows the emotional journey of a Bengali family grappling with hidden tensions, grief, and reconciliation in the aftermath of the annual festival.
Plot
[edit]During Durga Puja, Ananda and Alokananda prepare to welcome their family, including their estranged daughter Mrinmoyee, who returns after a long absence. Tensions arise when plans to sell the ancestral home surface, threatening to shatter the family’s delicate unity. On Bijoya Dashami, Ananda passes away suddenly. Aloka, determined to preserve the family's last moments of joy, conceals the death until after the celebration, guiding the family toward emotional catharsis and reconciliation.
