Submission declined on 19 December 2024 by Suitskvarts (talk). This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Wikipedia's verifiability policy and the notability of the subject can be established. If you still feel that this subject is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies. Declined by Suitskvarts 7 months ago. | ![]() |

Comment: I am in the library sector and familiar with blibiotheca, and believe they could meet WP:GNG, but the way this article is written seems to be just praise for the company and reads more like a press release than an encyclopedia article. I was interested in helping out with the article given that it's a topic I know about, but I suspected it was paid editing and the profile of the writer confirms that. It is very clear in the way it is written. If you can not write about the subject in an encyclopedic tone, it is not worth continuing to submit. -- NotCharizard 🗨 08:28, 20 May 2025 (UTC)

There should be no links pointing to external resources until the footnotes in the 'References' section (with the exception of one optional web link in the infobox). Bibliotheca LLC is a private company that develops and supplies library technology solutions. Headquartered in Lake Elmo, Minnesota, United States, the company operates globally and provides systems designed to support library functions such as self-checkout, inventory management, security, and automated materials handling.
Bibliotheca is owned by One Equity Partners, the private equity division of JPMorgan Chase & Co.
History
[edit]The company was established in 2011 through the merger of three library-focused technology companies: Bibliotheca (Switzerland), Intellident (United Kingdom), and Integrated Technology Group (United States).
In 2012, Bibliotheca acquired Trion AG, a German manufacturer of automated returns and sorting systems. In 2015, it acquired the Library Systems division of 3M, which included a portfolio of self-service kiosks, RFID security gates, and the Tattle-Tape security technology.
In 2024, the company sold its cloudLibrary digital lending platform to OCLC, a nonprofit library cooperative.
In 2023–24, several Twin Cities libraries implemented extended access models, with coverage stating that Bibliotheca was "among the leading providers of the required software" for unattended service in North America.
In March 2025, RFID Journal reported the completion of a new "Customer Innovation Center" at Bibliotheca’s Lake Elmo headquarters, designed to demonstrate technologies and train library staff.
In June 2025, the University of Minnesota’s Minitex cooperative program introduced Bibliotheca’s selfCheck 2500 kiosk under a bulk-purchasing arrangement.
Products
[edit]Bibliotheca's product portfolio includes self-checkout kiosks (selfCheck series), automated materials handling systems (flexAMH), RFID-based security gates, and access control systems such as open+. It also manufactures Tattle-Tape magnetic strips and related accessories, a technology originally developed by 3M.
Additional software platforms include libraryConnect (device and content management), uniFi+ (digital signage), and cloudCheck tablet (a lightweight self-service interface). The company also supplies consumables such as RFID tags and thermal receipt paper for use in library circulation systems.
