Aziz Ahmad is a Bangladeshi-American technology entrepreneur. He founded UTC Associates, a technology firm based in New York, and co-founded CodersTrust, an online platform that teaches computer skills.[1]

Early life and education

Ahmad earned a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the City College of New York. He also studied business at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.[2]

Career

Ahmad began his career at Bankers Trust Company before joining AT&T, where he was a senior manager involved in developing new internet networks.[1]

In 2001, he founded UTC Associates, which provides technology services to businesses, including banks, hospitals, telecommunications companies, and government agencies[1]

In 2014, Ahmad co-founded CodersTrust, a company that offers online computer skills training to individuals worldwide. CodersTrust collaborates with the City College of New York[3] and the University for Peace, which is connected to the United Nations.[4]

He is a board member of Vonair, Netria Systems, Grameen Solutions, and Protective Islami Life Insurance.[5]

Public speaking

Ahmad has spoken at international events on technology, education, and social impact. He was a featured speaker at the World Economic Forum's SDG Lab in Davos, highlighting the use of artificial intelligence to address issues like hunger, water scarcity, and malnutrition.[6][7] In 2025, he delivered a keynote address titled "AI Champions for the Common Good" at the SDG Lab Week in Davos.[8]

In 2024, Ahmad contributed to discussions on artificial intelligence regulations at the European Parliament as part of the Renew Europe initiative[9]

In 2019, Ahmad participated in the Vatican-hosted summit "The Common Good in the Digital Age," supported by Pope Francis. He discussed the ethical implications of new technologies and presented on the "Future of Work."[10][11]

Awards and honors

Ahmad received the Lifetime SDG Achievement Award at the 2025 World Economic Forum.[12] He also received the NOVA Award from the World Green Energy Symposium for his contributions to sustainable technology.[13] He funds the Aziz Ahmad Leadership Lecture Series at the Grove School of Engineering at the City College of New York, which brings business leaders to speak to students.[14]
