History

[edit]

Azenco Outdoor was founded in 2017 by Charles Chapus and Leslie Chapus, entrepreneurs with previous experience in the European outdoor living market. In 2024, the company was acquired by Hunter Douglas, a Netherlands-based global manufacturer of window coverings and architectural products. The acquisition, backed by 3G Capital, was reported as part of Hunter Douglas' strategy to expand into the outdoor living category in North America.[1][2]

Products

[edit]

The company specializes in modular aluminum structures for residential and commercial applications. Its product line includes motorized and manual pergolas, fixed louvered patio covers, and freestanding cabanas.[2]

Sustainability

[edit]

Azenco Outdoor has publicly emphasized sustainability in its manufacturing and operational practices. The company reports efforts to incorporate recycled materials, reduce packaging waste, and adopt paperless office policies. It also partners with environmental organizations on ocean cleanup efforts. A 2025 article in Hamptons Real Estate Showcase noted Azenco Outdoor’s integration of environmental awareness with modern architectural aesthetics in its product design.[3]
