The Association of Milk Producers (AMP) is a non-profit, voluntary association of enterprises specializing in dairy farming.

The Association was officially registered on April 30, 2009.

Over 10 years of its existence, the ranks of the association have grown tenfold: in 2020, AMP included 150 farms from all corners of Ukraine (with an average farm size of 600 cows).

Goals of the Association:

  • Lobbying for the interests and protecting the rights of enterprises in the dairy farming sector at the state level
  • Achieving global standards of production by implementing modern technologies.
  • Exchanging experience and importing the best global solutions in dairy farming to increase the profitability of the dairy business.
  • Promoting dairy products as an integral part of a healthy diet.

Today, AMP is the unifying and driving force of the entire national dairy industry of Ukraine, the main lobbyist for dairy farmers' interests at the state level, and ultimately, a fighter for natural and quality dairy products on the table of every Ukrainian and for the health of the younger generation.

Evidence of AMP's achievements and authority is the support and partnership from recognized international organizations and funds: FAO, EBRD, IFC, USAID, APD, as well as the embassies of Austria, Estonia, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany, France, the USA, and other countries.

AMP experts are members of working groups at the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and the Ministry of Economy, and are involved experts in the Agrarian and other committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (VRU). As a member of the "Ukrainian National Agrarian Forum," AMP represents the interests of the industry at the EU level within Copa-Cogeca.

Membership in the Association is voluntary and open to all interested milk producers. The only requirement is the desire to work and a business approach to dairy farming.

Participants

[edit]

AMP member farms collectively maintain about 78 thousand cows and produce approximately 680 thousand tonnes of raw milk per year, which accounts for about 40% of all industrial milk (data may vary due to military actions in Ukraine).

AMP member farms by the end of 2024:

- Collectively maintain about a third of Ukraine's industrial dairy cows and cultivate 1.3 million hectares.

- Supply over 30% of all industrial milk delivered for processing in Ukraine.

- Have an average milk yield of 8,800 kg per cow per year, compared to 6,565 kg per cow per year on average across Ukraine, with the best farms exceeding 12,000 kg per cow per year.

Consulting Center

[edit]

The Advisory Center of the Association of Milk Producers (AMP CC) was founded in 2010 thanks to the initiative and funding of member farms. The Advisory Center of the AMP has consolidated the best experts in the dairy industry. In 2020, the Advisory Center team consisted of 85 consultants providing services in management, veterinary medicine, animal husbandry, agronomy, construction, and reconstruction of dairy farms.

Nine mobile units operate, serving dairy farms in the eastern, western, northern, southern, and central regions of Ukraine.
