Overview

Headquartered in London, Apis was founded in 2014 by Managing Partners Matteo Stefanel and Udayan Goyal, with the objective of advancing financial services, providing growth capital to businesses applying innovation and technology in the sector. Apis today has representation in seven countries globally.

In 2015, Apis launched its first private equity vehicle, Apis Growth Fund I, achieving a final close of $287 million. Its second fund, Apis Growth Fund II, launched in 2019, reached total commitments in excess of $560 million.

In 2021, Apis announced the transfer of a dedicated financial services investment team from global investment firm Actis Capital.

Since its founding, a central principle of Apis' investment approach has been the integration of ESG and Impact factors, with the objective of delivering positive societal impact through its investments.  

Operations

As of December 31, 2024, Apis manages or advises on approximately US$2.2 billion in assets on behalf of institutional investors such as sovereign wealth funds, development institutions, insurers, pension funds, foundations and banks in addition to private investors. The firm employs a team of approximately 40 professionals with expertise in financial services and technology sectors.
