Early Life and Education
[edit]Pollak was born in Santiago, Chile. He studied music at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, graduating cum laude in 1985 with a focus on piano performance and film scoring.
Music Career
[edit]In the 1970s, Pollak co‑founded Chilean fusion bands such as La Marraqueta and Cometa, noted for blending jazz and South American rhythms. He has composed scores for numerous films, including Johnny 100 Pesos (1993), Johnny 100 Pesos: Capítulo Dos (2017), El Vacío, and Monvoisin.

Under his leadership, EastSide Sound installed New York City’s first Harrison 32Classic console in 2024 to support high-end hybrid workflows.[1]
He also emphasized the studio's creative mission and analog roots in a televised feature: “We live in a digital time, but we are analog… that moment of capturing the magic, that’s where it is.”[2]

Personal Life
[edit]Pollak divides his time between Santiago and New York. In addition to music and business, he explores philosophy, artificial intelligence, cryptology, and quantum computing.
