And The Wiremen is the project of musician and composer Lynn Wright.^[1] Based between New York and Berlin, from 2009 to 2016 it recorded and toured with a revolving door line-up of musicians, centered around Wright and former Sparklehorse trumpeter and guitarist Paul Watson^[2], and often featured Pere Ubu bassist Tony Maimone.^[3] They released their self-titled debut in 2009^[4]. This was followed in 2013 by the EP "Send Me Low", which was re-issued as a full length in Germany in 2015, and included in Berliner Zeitung's^[5] album of year shortlist. In 2016, a single Caged Bird was released.^[6]

The band was inactive, with the exception of the occasional show in New York or Berlin, following Paul Watson's retirement due to Parkinson's disease in 2016. A follow up album Night Cracks Harbour was recorded with violinist Simon Goff taking over Watson's role and co-producing, but was never released (Marc Shea (2022). "Episode 240: Lynn Wright (And The Wiremen, James Hall)". Performance Anxiety (Podcast).), though two singles from the album, Chosen Sons and Parade^[6] were made available on streaming platforms.

Wright reformed the band in Berlin in late 2024, and announced Night Cracks Harbour is scheduled to be released in 2025.^[6]

Paul Watson died on November 20, 2024.^[2]
