Alhaj Minnatullah or Haji Minnatullah (1898 – 1997) was an Indian businessman and a social worker. In a monthly publication from Kanpur in 1968 through his own article he expressed his view to promote education, in particular, within minority communities where the child education was needed the most.[1][2]

Biography

Haji Minnaullah was born in village Kath Taraon, Mau, Azamgarh division Uttar Pradesh (1898). At an early age in 1918, he moved from his birth place to Kanpur, starting a business that dealt with hide tanning at Jajmau Kanpur.[1] Additionally he was found to support the leather business in the city of Jajmau Kanpur that named one street as Minnatullah street.

In 1972, he laid the foundation of (Darul Talim and Sanaat) or in short DTS primary school at Jajmau, a distant corner of Kanpur city in keeping with his vision as mentioned above. The aforementioned primary school progressed to DTS Inter College afterward in 2011; the school has separate sections for boys and girls.[3] Alhaj Minnatullah, among others, was credited to establish infrastructure including the land for this school managed as a minority institution.[3][4]

Death

Alhaj Minnatullah died in 1997 and was buried in Jajmau Kanpur.
