Alex Esmail (born 1993) is a British actor. He is best known for his role as Pest in the 2011 science fiction film Attack the Block. Esmail has also appeared in several British television series, including Casualty and Law & Order: UK.

Early life

Esmail was born in England in 1993. Little is publicly known about his early life prior to his acting debut.

Career

Esmail made his film debut portraying Pest in Joe Cornish's Attack the Block (2011), a science fiction action film centered around a group of teenagers in South London defending their block from alien invaders.^[1] The film received critical acclaim and developed a cult following.^[2]

Following the success of Attack the Block, Esmail transitioned to television work, appearing in episodes of Casualty in 2013 and Law & Order: UK in 2014.^[3]
