Adam Sobczyk

Adam Sobczyk is a Polish engineer and product leader, currently serving as a Product Owner at McKinsey & Company. His work focuses on the integration of artificial intelligence into digital transformation initiatives. He has also contributed to research in wind turbine aerodynamics and has co-founded a technology startup.

Early life and education

Sobczyk studied at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology (Politechnika Wrocławska), where he earned an engineering degree from the Faculty of Mechanical and Power Engineering in 2021. He also pursued coursework in materials engineering between 2017 and 2019.

Career

McKinsey & Company

Sobczyk joined McKinsey & Company in 2019 as an Engineering Assistant in the Design to Value program. He developed automation tools using Python and VBA, as well as laboratory systems for engineering analysis. He advanced through several roles including Business Analyst and Senior Business Analyst, and was promoted to Product Owner in 2025 at McKinsey Digital. In this role, he leads projects focused on generative AI and strategic innovation.

Entrepreneurship

In 2020, Sobczyk co-founded a startup called Alo. The company aimed to develop innovative user-centric digital products. The venture ceased operations in 2021 during the product-market fit stage.

Engineering and Technical Roles

Prior to his work at McKinsey, Sobczyk held technical roles at companies including ITMGroup, RADMOT, and Enea Wytwarzanie. His responsibilities spanned CAD design, quality control in CNC manufacturing, and process automation using Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD tools.

Sobczyk has co-authored academic research related to the use of artificial intelligence in the aerodynamic optimization of wind turbine blades. His work was published in the journal Computers in 2024.[1]
