Political career
[edit]Abdul Mobin Rizvi entered state politics in Jharkhand representing parties such as the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and later RJM. He was the AIMIM candidate in the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections and contested again in the 2024 Dumri bypoll as an RJM candidate.[1]
Controversies
[edit]In August 2023, Rizvi was booked by the Jharkhand police for allegedly organizing a political rally in Dumri where slogans deemed as pro-Pakistan were raised. The incident occurred during an AIMIM campaign led by party president Asaduddin Owaisi. Although the video evidence led to an FIR, Rizvi denied any wrongdoing and claimed political motivation behind the charges.[2][3]
