AGZ (Rapper)
AGZ (born July 4, 1990, in Orsett Hospital) is a British rapper whose work spans grime and hip hop. AGZ’s music is known for incorporating personal experiences, often exploring past challenges and future aspirations.
Early Life
AGZ was born and raised in Chadwell St Mary. At the age of nine, he experienced the loss of his mother to breast cancer, an event that profoundly impacted his upbringing. After a brief period in Ibiza, he returned to the UK, settling in Basildon in 2005.
Career
AGZ began recording music at 15 and gained early recognition on MySpace, where he featured in the platform’s top 10 charts. Performing initially under the name Agrow, he released his first mixtape My Independent Day in 2007, a nod to both his independent release and his July 4th birthday. The following year, he released Basildon Volume One, collaborating with local artists.
In 2010, AGZ released BIG Bone Idol Genius, a hip hop project that marked a shift in his musical style. By 2011, he had changed his stage name to AGZ, releasing Ascension Seeker, which received attention within the UK rap underground scene.
