AG5 is a Dutch software company headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The company develops plug-and-play skills management software, aimed at helping businesses track, manage, and visualize workforce skills in real-time. AG5 positions its services as a replacement for traditional Excel-based matrices in manufacturing, logistics, and safety-critical industries.

History

[edit]

AG5 was founded in 2019 by brothers Rick and Mathieu van Echtelt and Wouter Gazendam. They identified a gap in how companies manage workforce competencies and built a cloud-based solution tailored for shop floor operations, HR departments, and compliance teams.

In March 2023, AG5 raised €6 million in a seed funding round led by Headline, Peak, and Acadian Ventures to expand its platform and scale operations internationally.[1][2]

Products and Services

[edit]

AG5 offers a cloud-based skills management platform that enables organisations to create dynamic skill matrices without relying on spreadsheets. Key features include:

  • Integration with HR and learning management systems (LMS)
  • Real-time compliance tracking
  • Team and role-based visualization
  • Skills gap analysis and forecasting

The platform is widely used in manufacturing, logistics, aviation, and healthcare sectors to manage employee certifications, training records, and audit readiness.

Recognition

[edit]

AG5 has received recognition from several technology review platforms. In the G2 Winter 2025 report, AG5 was named a Momentum Leader in the skills management category and earned multiple badges based on user satisfaction.[3]

The company has been positively reviewed on platforms such as G2 and Capterra for its intuitive user interface and ease of implementation.[4][5]
