On 27 May 2025, a brief skirmish erupted between Thai and Cambodian soldiers near the disputed Chang Bok, in the Nam Yuen district along the border. The clash resulted in the death of a Cambodian soldier.[1]
The Skirmish
[edit]On the morning of 27 May 2025, Thai soldiers from the Suranaree Task Force encountered Cambodian troops who had reportedly crossed into a contested zone. Thai authorities attempted to initiate dialogue, but the situation escalated when Cambodian forces opened fire, leading to a 10-minute exchange of gunfire.[2]
