The 2025 Canadian Grand Prix (officially known as the Formula 1 Pirelli Grand Prix du Canada 2025) is a Formula One motor race set to be held on 15 June 2025, at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It will be the tenth round of the 2025 Formula One World Championship.
Background
[edit]The event will be held at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal for the 44th time in the circuit's history, across the weekend of 13-15 June.[2] The Grand Prix will be the tenth round of the 2025 Formula One World Championship and the 54th running of the Canadian Grand Prix as a round of the Formula One World Championship.[3]
Entrants
[edit]The drivers and teams are to be the same as published in the season entry list with two exceptions; Yuki Tsunoda at Red Bull Racing is in the seat originally held by Liam Lawson before the latter was demoted back to Racing Bulls from the Japanese Grand Prix onward,[4] and Franco Colapinto replaced Jack Doohan at Alpine from the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix onward until at least the Austrian Grand Prix on a rotating seat basis.[5]
Tyre choices
[edit]Tyre supplier Pirelli will bring the C4, C5, and C6 tyre compounds (the three softest in their range) designated hard, medium, and soft, respectively, for teams to use at the event.[6]
Practice
[edit]Three free practice sessions will be held for the event. The first free practice session will be held on 13 June 2025, at 13:30 local time (UTC-4). The second free practice session will be held on the same day, at 17:00 local time. The third free practice session will be held on 14 June 2025, at 12:30 local time.[1]
Qualifying
[edit]Qualifying will be held on 14 June 2025, at 16:00 local time (UTC-4), and will determine the starting grid order for the race.[1]
Race
[edit]The race will be held on 15 June 2025, at 15:00 local time (UTC-4), and is set to be run for 70 laps.[1]
